  • 24 credits (4 English, 4 Math, 3 Science, 3 Social Studies, 1 HOPE, 1 Art, and

electives)

  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average (this is a “C” average of all of

your semester and year-long courses, not the 9-week GPA)

  • Pass the 10th Grade FSA and Algebra 1 End of Course (EOC) Exam
  • Pass one online course
  • These are the absolute minimum standards to receive our diploma. If you

intend to continue on to college, you’ll need to do more:

  • Take at least two years of Foreign Language,
  • Take an Honors, Dual Enrollment, and/or AP course,
  • Earn high qualifying scores on the PERT, ACT and/or SAT,
  • Maintain the highest GPA you can throughout your HS career!

How Do You Earn Credit its?

  • Credits are earned each

semester – in December and May

  • A semester grade is two

quarters and the exam combined (half of the year)

  • Student who fails either

quarter and the semester exam can receive a semester grade of “F” (teacher discretion model)

  • Student who fails both

quarters but passes the semester exam can receive a semester grade of “F” (teacher discretion model)

not automatic. A new application for 20- 21 must be completed and approved by the first day of school. Without an approved form the cost of a Regular Lunch is $2.75 per day.

  • As a part of the Lakewood High School Safety Plan, we have

adopted a Modified Dress Code. The Modified Dress Code is in effect for the entire school year.

  • Headphones are not allowed to be in use at any time. Ear buds

may be used at lunch and during passing periods.

  • Pinellas County Policy prohibits students from bringing cell

phones to school. If you choose to bring a cell phone, you assume all liability for its use, theft, or destruction. Students and parents are encouraged to download phone retrieval apps (Android Lost/Find my iPhone), if they choose to bring a phone.

  • Students who are absent must send in a note from a doctor

within 48 hours of the absence in order to have it excused. Parents may self-report for the first 5 absences. Beyond this, a note is required to excuse the absences.

  • This list is not exhaustive. Your student will receive a Code of

Student Conduct. Please familiarize yourselves with the Pinellas County Schools expectations for Students.

Optional Campus Walkthrough

An Optional Campus Walk through will be available on 8/12/20. Timing is based on last name:

  • L-R 10-10:30
  • S-Z 11-11:30
  • This self-guided walking tour will allow families to see

the layout of the school.
