Incumbent Worker Training

  • A robust, motivated, well-educated, and highly trained workforce is critical for the retention and

expansion of all businesses in Ohio. In their efforts to improve their economic competitiveness, employers must find ways to consistently upgrade the skills of their workforce through educational and training opportunities.

  • This is an employer-driven program that is targeted to provide direct financial assistance to our local

employers to train their current workers and improve the economic competitiveness of the Greater Lima Region employers. Eligible trainees need to be employed for at least 6 months. IWT covers a percenta ge

  • f total training costs based on employer size and availability of funding.
  • The ultimate goal of this program is twofold: 1) allow employers to retain and grow their existing

workforce and 2) create a regional workforce that can meet the present and future demands in an ever- changing economy.

  • Incumbent Worker Training funding can be paired with Ohio's new TechCred program to help cover

training costs not fully covered through TechCred.

Incumbent Worker Training

➢ 58 trainings funded in 2019 totaling over $205,000! ➢ 14 active trainingprojects totaling$66,000+
