Change of enterprise (farm) after one or two years

  • All three years on different farms are possible
  • getting to know regional characteristics, languages and cultures
  • It is possible to change between cantons (regions). The curricula is

adapted for this change between different farms during the apprentiship

  • The apprentices have to choose the apprenticeship-places (enterprises) in

a way that they can learn all skills of the curriculum (for example: also choose farm that practice tillage farming, not only grassland farms)

appitude check before signing the contract (farmer with federal diploma or with federal attest )

 Results of a standardized test (Stellwerk/Jobskills) are helpful for the farmer/ vocational trainers to make the right decision for the suitable level of education  A two or three days trial-apprenticeship before signing a contract ist helpful for a complementary appraisal of the apprentice and to find out the apprentice matches together with the farmers family  Strickhof helps farmers/vocational trainers to make a good decision for the right level of education. We offer an additional test, a one-on-one interview, a report with our interpretation of the results

Excellent chances on the job market

  • good skilled employees in the vocational field of agriculture are searched

for

  • young professionals also have good chances to find a job outside of the

vocational field.

  • reasons:
  • all-rounder: „No other profession is as varied als the profession of farming:

he’s a bit mechanic, carpenter, he works with many different materials, with plants, animals and human beings.“

  • graduates with a federal vocational diploma are self reliant and endued

with soft skills. Apprentices take over responsibility for animals, nature and expensive equipment very fast.

  • they are used to work independently / they have the will to persevere and

are able to withstand stress and cope with heavy workloads (55 h/week)
