I-90 (Section 2 & 3) PURPOSE AND NEED

Project Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to address the identified deficiencies of I-90, Section 2 and 3 that impede mobility, safety, and long-term cost effect maintenance of the highway facility.

Project Need:

The need for this project has been developed based on the identified deficiencies of existing I-90 corridor including:

  • Narrow shoulder widths (I-90)
  • Low vertical clearance (I-90)
  • Poor roadway condition (I-90)
  • Guiderail Upgrades (I-90)
  • Poor condition of bridges
  • Poor condition of McKee Road & Bridge
