Parks Development Department Cycling in Vaughan Today

  • Key trail systems in the City of Vaughan are the Bartley Smith

Greenway (Don River) and the William Granger Greenway (Humber River) which follow natural open space corridors.

  • Trails span various land owners including the City of Vaughan,

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), and others. Individual owners policies for use effect the design and development.

  • Construction of trails in natural open spaces typically require

permits from agencies like the TRCA and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR). These are sometimes time consuming but help to ensure the protection of endangered and sensitive species.
