Classic Pizza Restaurant is a family business established in 1996 in a small Finnish harbor city, Hanko. Before that the owners of Classic Pizza Restaurant, Juha Toivanen and Merja Rahkola-Toivanen, had a successful fjne dining- restaurant called Jonathan. Juha & Merja thought that the high prices and stifgness in fjne dining was limiting their customer base, because it’s diffjcult to approach. Tiey wanted to make a concept, that is easily achievable and afgordable for everyone from students to CEOs.

We at Classic Pizza Restaurant regard environmental responsibility very highly in all our

• perations. Our restaurant was one of the fjrst in

Finland taking environmental aspects, such as waste management, ecologically produced products and recycling into account already years ago. In the future we will take these issues to the next level, giving them an increasing place in our activities. Together with the Ministry of Economic Afgairs and Employment of Finland, we are working on making a difgerence in our community. We hire people who are not easily employed, because we believe that everyone deserves a second chance in life. Some of the people we hire are deaf, have Down-syndrome or mental health-issues, for example, because of a trauma that has happened in their past. We have witnessed wonderful success stories with these people, and want to continue to make a difgerence in the future. Our goal is to help people to get back on their feet, back to the working life and back to society. We take great joy in being part of these personal positive changes.
