Athletes are free to try out for multiple teams and are NOT obligated to commit or sign Individual Registration forms until Monday, December 16th .

  10. Referees • Volleyball Manitoba, Manitoba Volleyball Officials Association & Westman Offic ials Association are always looking to expand the pool of Certified Referees • If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Certified Referee, clinics are held in Sep & Oct each year. • If you are interested in having MVOA Referees work your event, please contact Ed Toews at edtoews@mvoa.ca or Bev Workman (Brandon) at bev_workman@hotmail.com • It is recommended and encouraged by Volleyball Manitoba that all Sanctioned Events utilize Certified Referees, as this provides Athletes and Coaches with valuable experience interacting with Certified Referees while also providing referees with a developmental experience in anticipation of Provincial and National Championships

  11. Club Registration Info • All Clubs are required to submit a Club Information Form at the beginning of the season (or update previous years information) • This form will include information relating to their Club Executive Structure, Club Contact Information and Club Coach Certification and Screening Information. • The form also helps us in determining teams within a club • This form is required to be submitted before Clubs/Teams participate in any sanctioned activities. • The sooner we receive the better so we can review compliance of your coaches to avoid ineligibility, etc.

  12. Registration Info • All Club, Team, Coach & Athlete, and Provincial/National Championship Registration is completed through the VRS • All Clubs and Teams must be registered in the VRS by March 20 th • Roster Lock Date, March 26 th • Rosters must contain a minimum of 8 Athletes, and a maximum of 15 Athletes • Rosters must contain at least 1 Coach and 1 Team Contact (can be same individual) • Individual Registration Forms must be completed for all Athletes and Coaches, and must be available upon VM request • Forms DO NOT need to be submitted to VM

  13. Registration/Roster Info • Athletes may only register with 1 Club • Within a Club, Athletes may play on more than 1 Team • Athletes may play on more than 1 Team within THE SAME Age Category up to the Roster Lock Date, after which they may only be registered to 1 Team within an Age Category • Athletes may play on more than 1 Team within DIFFERENT Age Categories all season, as long as they are registered with all Teams on which they are playing • Athletes can not compete with more than one team in any given event • An Athlete CAN NOT compete with 2 15U Teams in 1 Tournament • An Athlete CAN NOT compete with 1 15U Team and 1 16U Team in 1 Tournament • An Athlete CAN compete with 2 different Teams in 2 different Tournaments on the same weekend, granted the Tournaments are not run congruently • i.e. 1 tournament Saturday, 1 tournament Sunday

  14. Registration/Transfer Info • Once an athlete has registered with a team and signed the Individual Registration Form they are not permitted to change Clubs without the consent of Volleyball Manitoba • If an athlete wishes to Transfer, they must obtain a written release from their current Club (the Club shall provide written release at their discretion), and provide a written statement describing the reason(s) for the transfer; the athlete will then submit these documents to VM • Upon completion of these elements, VM shall give consent and the transfer will be effective upon written notification • VM will then make the necessary adjustments on the VRS

  15. Registration/Age Category Info • Teams / Players may compete in a higher Age Category at Provincial Championships, as long as they have competed in Sanctioned Tournaments at the same Age Category, and intend to compete at Nationals at that category as well • For the 2020 Festival year, 15U-18U teams/athletes will not be allowed to compete in multiple provincials due to VC policy of not being allowed at Nationals • In a non-Festival year, teams may compete in a higher Age Category at National Championships, as long as they have competed at the same Provincial Championship Age Category. • Only age categories in 2020 where this would apply would be 13U up to 14U or 14U up to 15U. • Teams MAY NOT Play Down to a lower Age Category
