Program Purpose: To provide targeted support, training, and guidance to some of our more challenged students within USD 116. Program Objectives: This program will provide behavioral guidance, mentorship, social/emotional learning opportunities, family-focused activities, and positive community experiences. Program Sponsors: This program will be a collaborative effort from the City of Urbana, District 116, and the Champaign County Community Coalition.

• Participants. We seek to identify 6 current freshman and 6

incoming freshmen males who are leaders of or heavy participators in activities that are disruptive to the entire school/Urbana community..

• Participant/Parent Contracts. Approved permission

forms/contracts to be signed by the student, parent/guardian and program organizer.

• Program Stipend. Individual contracts are signed by all parties

that will indicate if the student will complete all the elements of the program. If all elements are completed the student will receive a $500 stipend. At the mid-point of the program the student will receive $250 of the $500.

• Proposed Launch Event. Kick off barbecue Saturday June 1 (Last

day of school May 30th)

• Formal Start Date. Proposed start date of June 4.
• Frequency: Sessions twice per week Tuesday and Thursday/16

sessions continuing through the 2019/2020 school year once a month.

• Daily Schedule. Time 5:30 PM to 8 PM. (First 30 minutes meal

provided)

• Space Accommodations: Space for summer sessions/Urbana

Connections.

• District admin and teacher Buy in. (grades/discipline/attendance)
• Volunteer Requirement. Within the program the students will

also be expected to participate in identified volunteer
