Arlington County Natural Resource Inventory – Plant Communities

Emphasis on natural resources

• NOVA Parks goal to minimize impacts to existing trees and plant

communities

• Tree Survey prepared by ISA Certified Arborist
• Any trees that could not be saved would be replaced as required

per Arlington County Landscape Standards “Replacement Guidelines”

• Proposing a reforestation plan that takes tree replacement to a new

level with creation of a native forest ecosystem

1. Decrease the diversity of invasive plants within Upton Hill Regional Park by 2020 2. Dedicate at least 6 volunteer based works days to combat invasive plants on an annual basis 3. Contribute at least 400hrs of park staff time annually to invasive plant reduction 4. Educate the park staff, volunteers and patrons on the importance of Invasive management and the benefit of removal
