Why? ‐ Live interaction ‐ Visual ‐ Space ‐ Save time ‐ Save cost For UMMC ‐ Start in 2006 ‐ Teaching ‐ Clinical Workshop/Seminar ‐ Tele ‐ consultation ‐ Collaboration with other Univ/Institution ‐ Research & Innovation ‐ Meeting 4 Short of Equipment ‐ 2 unit of H323 Codec, one HD mixer, one set wired mic and one set wireless handheld mic ‐ 1 X DVTS James Bond Set (canopus DAC, audio mixer, SD camera, etc) ‐ Financial limitation No dedicated room for video conferencing ‐ There is no dedicated room in UMMC for video conferencing ‐ But too many rooms need the FACILITY (Too many OT and Auditorium) ‐ 24 OT and 4 Auditorium/6 conference room ‐ All setup are mobile and ad hoc basis. Extensive Requirement By Clinician ‐ HD is preferred by the clinicians ‐ Most video conferencing equipment shall need to be upgraded to HD ‐ picture in picture, multi view requirement 5 ‐ Need up ‐ scaler and down ‐ scaler

Ad Hoc Conference ‐ few activities is ad hoc and no time for preparation/setup Network Requirement ‐ Conference has to be held anywhere within the campus ‐ No dedicated venue for conference ‐ Use normal internet lines High Quality Video/smooth transmission ‐ Video performance is the mandatory requirement ‐ HD quality.
