Purpose of the Meeting

  • 1. Provide an update on the progress of the King

Street Improvement Project;

  • 2. Learn more about the next stages of construction

and the project schedule;

  • 3. Review how vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be

affected during construction;

  • 4. Ask questions of staff from the City, Region and the

Contractor, Clearway Construction Inc; and

  • 5. Provide any comments you may have at this time

(eg. special needs, scheduled deliveries, etc).

PROJECT SCHEDULE:

SEQUENCING OF WORK

  • Replacement of deep underground pipes
  • Installation of shallower utilities
  • Replacement of the road
  • Replacement of sidewalks
  • Streetlights and landscape work

*Note: Accesses to businesses to be maintained throughout each aspect of the work, existing sidewalks to be maintained as long as reasonably possible (similar approach as ION work).

  • BIA Membership Meeting – April 13
  • King Street construction commenced on

April 26 (initially planned for April 17)

  • Watermain and sanitary sewer has been

completed in Stage 1

  • Currently in the process of installing new

services to buildings

  • Dupont to Bridgeport – roadway anticipated to be

completed by end of August with sidewalk work in September

  • King Street to remain closed to through traffic until

September when is completed at King-Erb intersection
