  • District and School Level Safety Committees

Instructions to meet criteria: The district safety committee

and school level safety committees are required to meet at least twice during the year. The school level safety committee should provide feedback to the district level committee in the form of goals and actions. Provide a copy of this information along with the district’s safety committee goals and actions.

  • Walk-through Safety Audits

Instructions to meet criteria: Contact Tim Hinson, Risk

Control Manager, to schedule audits/inspections of two facilities in your district. A member of the safety committee should accompany the SCSBIT representative during the audit. This will assist the district and school in training individuals to recognize unsafe conditions and work practices firsthand.
