  • Hospital fire and need to refurbish Weybridge library building provide
  • nce-in-a-lifetime opportunity for significant changes to our town

centre

  • Not just rebuild what was, but advance the town's provisions -- for

residents, businesses and visitors -- this area affects us all -- we can make Weybridge better

  • Evaluating options for hospital, library, and Churchfield Car Park sites -
  • must think of this as one town centre, not three separate projects
  • Facilities should include health services, library, community centre,

affordable housing & car parking -- walk-in centre returned, what else?

  • Acknowledging complexity of sites' various owners, need an incentive

to overcome challenges -- govt bodies must work together for Weybridge

  • • Working party being set up to evaluate options -- want members'

ideas

  • What next for WRAP?
  • More consideration to options for town centre services, both

re-provisioning and improvement

  • Welcome input from members and local

businesses, especially on facilities that would enhance Weybridge as a place to shop & visit -- urgent request

  • Society will liaise with relevant authorities such as Elmbridge,

Surrey, NHS Properties

  • Need to respect conservation area constraints
  • Initially let's think 'outside the box' and be creative -- we

need to let govt bodies know what we want rather than have 'solutions' imposed on us
