M AINSTREAM ING B IODIVERSITY FOR W ELL - BEING “Mainstreaming of the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity for well-being in sectoral and inter-sectoral plans, programs and policies” Biodiversity mainstreaming implies that conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity is integral to the functioning of productive sectors, aiming to reduce, prevent and mitigate the negative impacts, in order for ecosystems to be healthy, resilient and to ensure the provision of essential services for human well- being. With emphasis in 4 sectors : Fisheries Forestry Tourism Agriculture To achieve this, political will and coordination with: indigenous peoples and local communities, academia, civil society, national and subnational governments, is fundamental.
