Provincial Updates

  • COVID-19 Case Definition and Reference

Documents for Symptoms updated:

– The case definition now includes:

  • consideration for travel within Canada (as well as international travel)
  • updates to the ‘probable’ case definition to include people who were

living/working in a facility known to be experiencing an outbreak.

– Addition to the list of symptoms:

  • multisystem inflammatory vasculitis as an atypical symptom that should be

considered in children

  • The Ministry of Health has also issued a statement about multisystem

inflammatory vasculitis, indicating they have taken immediate action by updating the case definition to include multisystem inflammatory vasculitis in

  • rder to better monitor this emerging issue, so they can effectively respond to

the illness.

Additional workplaces allowed to reopen

  • permitted to open or expand their services on Tuesday, May 19, 2020

as long as the general trend on health indicators continues to improve

Provincial Updates

The province extended the Declaration of Emergency until June 2

  • allows Ontario government to continue to enforce current

emergency orders,

  • restricting retirement and long-term care home employees from

working in more than one facility

  • prohibiting events and gatherings of more than five people
  • It is important to remember with the reopening of the

province it is important to mindful and continue to practice public health social measures
