Health Equity Data Collection

  • Gathering race-based and socio-economic

demographic data is important

  • “You cannot manage what you don’t

measure”

  • Although we are often hesitant to ask,

people are very willing to answer these questions if they understand why

slide-11

Script

  • “I would like to ask you a few sociodemographic questions

that will help us ensure you receive high quality and equitable care. We understand that our clients are all unique and by getting this information, it will allow us to understand any demographic trends related to the COVID- 19 pandemic. Answering these questions is voluntary. For the purposes of understanding trends, your identifying information such as your name and birthdate would not be included in the analysis, only the answers to the sociodemographic questions.”
