About Paralym Art
3
Creating a world where disabled people make their dreams come true with their art
Paralym Art aims to create a sustainable system that promotes the financial independence of disabled people not with the help of welfare but with the continuous support of private companies.
Japan’s disabled population is around 7.4 million people *Around 6% of Japan’s population
The reality disabled people face ①Lack of Opportunities ②Financial Struggles ③Lack of Understanding Poverty Rate: 16% for non-disabled people vs. 56% for disabled people
For many disabled people that are finding it hard to join society and are struggling financially, what they need the most is assistance in achieving financial independence instead of temporary aid.
Supporting the financial independence of disabled artists by connecting them with companies and other organizations

Invigorating Paralym Art
12
Hosting a Global Initiative to Invigorate Our Efforts in and out of Japan!
As an organization that expanded within Japan, Paralym Art is still growing We will invigorate our activities and raise awareness within Japan, by expanding our partnerships and our activities on a global scale
International Paralym Art Artworks
Japanese Paralym Art Artworks
Japanese Paralym Art Market Global Paralym Art Market
Since the start of our operation, the number of our registered artists have reached 550 (as of April 2017). Moreover, a total revenue of \7 million was paid to our artists in the last year. We are continuously expanding, and we have no intention to stop. With the Tokyo Olympics approaching, we believe it’s time to take Paralym Art to the global stage. Therefore, we plan to
- rganize and host an event that would
act as a catalyst for the rapid expansion
- f our operations and our partners in and
- ut of Japan.
Organizing the Paralym Art World Cup
13
We are planning to host the “Paralym Art World Cup”, as an event that symbolizes the globalization of Paralym Art.
Our 1st goal is 2020, when the whole world looks to Japan. Our final goal is to create an ongoing initiative that would go beyond 2020.
The global population of disabled people is estimated to be *1 billion, or 15% of the global population, with the ratio of disabled people being higher outside of Japan. Moreover, the less developed a country is, the higher the ratio of disabled people, with official assistance becoming harder to reach. As the interest towards social inclusion is increasing, we will work to invigorate Paralym Art along this social tide towards 2020: an Olympic year for Japan. Our aim is to make 2020 into a milestone year for Paralym Art within Japan and around the world. We will continue to work globally in the long term as well, and aim towards future Olympic years: Paris in 2024 and L.A. in 2028.
2018 1st Event

Supporting Disabled People Supporting Global Exchange Supporting Culture
Investing in society by supporting the financial independence of disabled people instead of mere donations. Contributing to in-depth global cooperation on social issues and the promotion of cross-cultural understanding. Contributing to the cultivation of the yet to be developed field of art by disabled people.
As Part of the Movement Towards Tokyo 2020
Establishing a presence as part of the movement of Japan being the center of attention for the world with the Olympic and Paralympic Games coming to Tokyo.
Contest Themes for the Paralym Art World Cup
15
Establishing a Different Theme for Each of Our Contests
We will set a theme for our contest that is universal and accessible for each year, and set an especially symbolic theme for 2020, which is an Olympic year. We are also thinking of adding excitement to our contests, by initiatives such as inviting well-known names in the field of each contest theme.

Paralym Art World Cup 2018 (temp) Event Plans
Venue: The Imperial Hotel in Tokyo
Concept for Hosting the 2018 Contest
17
The “World Cup” is our first step in building a global Paralym Art partnership. We will make the event one where disabled people and supporters from around the world come together as one.
As organizers of the very 1st Paralym Art World Cup competition, we will establish a concept for organizing
- ur event that would serve as a guideline to better realize a truly global initiative.
Event Concept Idea
A Day when the World Connects(temp)
We would host the full chain of our events within the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, and welcome award winning artists from around the world with the Japanese sprit of hospitality (Omotenashi). Starting with the award ceremony, we will invigorate the event through the various artistic collaborations put in place throughout the venue.
Symbolizing a global initiative The Appearance of a Major Event Promotion through media coverage
By creating a global atmosphere within the hotel and the hotel lobby, we intend to create a scene reminiscent of the arrival of World Cup footballers and Olympians. The disabled artworks and the multinational award winners is highly media friendly material, and can be expected to have high publicity and attract attention. We will create a memorable scene by turning the welcoming of award winning artists into a impressionable source for promotion. POINT
