  • WIA program - enrolled 1.3 million acres at a

cost of $2.2 million.

  • WIA contract - used $618c000 in USDA Farm

Service grant dollars for signing bonus on multiyear contracts for CRP and WRP land, emphasizing on southeast South Dakota.

  • Special Access Areas program - enrolled over

43,000 acres in northeast South Dakota. These

areas are primarily working farmlands leased for waterfowl hunting. Allowances made for vehicle traffic to set/retrieve decoys.

  • Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program -

enrolled 55,000 acres in 20 counties in the James River Watershed.

  • Improved boat ramps and docks at Bitter Lake,

Oak Lake, East Oakwood Lake, Brakke Dam, Lake Byron, Cavour Lake and Snake Creek on Lake Francis Case. Wheelchair accessible dock added at Lake Lakota.
