Follow Drop Policies

Launch provides all students a 20-day window to begin a course. It is recommended that students who do not begin the course, or who are unsuccessful in the first 20 days seek alternative course options.

Launch Best Practices

Building-Level Point of Contact

It is recommended that each location a district is using Launch have a point of contact that enrolls students and works directly with the Launch office.

Student Support & Monitoring

Students in Launch courses should be monitored by a teacher, counselor or principal at the site level.

Full-Time Online Students Mentors

Students who elect an online-only schedule are more successful if they have a caring adult in the school system who provides support.

slide-26
SLIDE 26

Launch Best Practices

Consider a space for online students

Many districts are considering a Launch Lab or space where students can work on their online courses.

Parent Communication Plan

Notifying parents their students are participating in an

  • nline course and providing the parent observation

username and password is a positive way to get parents involved.
