and organiza0ons within the scien0fic community to improve the availability, quality and scien0fic output

  • f technological core facili0es/research infrastructures

Communica:ons Working Group

Mission statement

The CTLS working group on communica0ons will present the public face of the associa0on to the world. Working through the internet we will construct and administer the webpages of the associa0on and create 0e ins to social media plaoorms to inform the general public about what the associa0on does and increase the visibility of core facili0es in European life science research. The communica0ons working group will be responsible for internal and external publicity regarding the nature and ac0vi0es of the organiza0on and ensure that contact between members is facilitated.

Mission statement

The Mission for the Funding WG will be to explore all possible avenues of funding for CTLS in order to secure sources of sustainable income.

Membership Working Group

Mission statement

The membership working group’s mission aims to ensure that the membership of the associa0on steadily increases, is broadly representa0ve of core facility diversity (exper0se, geographic loca0on and gender) and includes both academic and industrial members. We will reach out to academic, ins0tu0onal and industrial staff to inform them about the benefits of CTLS membership and encourage them to become ac0ve members of the associa0on.

Outreach Working Group

Mission statement

The aim of the outreach working group is to raise the profile of core facili0es, core facility scien0sts and of CTLS in order to promote and connect core facility scien0sts within the EU and beyond. The outreach working group will also ini0ate and maintain contacts with na0onal and transna0onal funding organiza0ons or poli0cal ins0tu0ons as well as commercial organisa0ons relevant to core facili0es such as instrument suppliers. Within CTLS the outreach working group will coordinate with the other working groups to support them in achieving their goals.

Training Working Group

Mission statement

The mission of the training working group is to compile and coordinate informa0on on training opportuni0es that are of use to core facility scien0sts. We will organize, seek out and publicize courses and programs that could benefit core facility staff and management. We will also establish a networking space for more individualized training such as mini-sabba0cals and cross facility staff exchanges. Ul0mately we will establish requirements for a CTLS qualifica0on in core facility management and promote a career path for facility staff.

Elec:on of new Execu:ve Council

  • The EC consists of a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 24 ac0ve members.
  • For this “kick-off” AGM, any CTLS member who wished to apply for the EC

was allowed do so, by sending a wrieen statement (the full procedure for applica0on, described in ar0cle V/sec0on 1.3 of the Statutes, will be applied as from 2018).

  • A secret ballot will be held: each member, present or represented (via

proxy), can vote “yes” or “no” for as many candidates as they wish.

  • EC candidates obtaining more than 50% of “yes” votes will be elected for a

2 year term, renewable 3 0mes

  • The EC will meet via teleconference at least 3 0mes per year. During 2018,

a face-to-face mee0ng will be arranged during the CTLS2018 congress.
