Transportation • Busing will continue to be provided to students that live farther than 1mile from school (elementary) and 1.75 mile from school (middle), as well as to high school students with disabilities who have transportation on their IEP . • Busing will follow state and local guidelines. Students will ride two to a seat, with a preference to students of the same household sitting together. • Students will wear masks when riding the bus and while waiting at the bus stop. • Buses will be equipped with hand-sanitizing stations for use by students as they board the bus. • All buses will be disinfected at the end of each day with an electrostatic sprayer.

Commitment to Health and Safety • All staff will be required to wear face masks or shields when instructing, moving about the building or meeting in groups. • Students in grades K-2 will be strongly encouraged (Risk Levels 1,2, and 3) to wear face masks or shields when 6’ social distancing cannot be maintained. • Students in grades 3-12 will be expected (Risk Levels 1 and 2) to wear face masks or shields when 6’ social distancing cannot be maintained.

  16. Commitment to Health and Safety • Students in grades 3-12 will be required (Risk Level 3) to wear face masks or shields when 6’ social distancing cannot be maintained, with medical exemptions. • Mask breaks will be given throughout the day, more frequently for our youngest learners.

Commitment to Health and Safety • Additional cleaning and PPE will be implemented in accordance with the CDC and Ohio and Summit County COVID-19 guidelines. • Students will be given time to practice proper hygiene routines with the help of Akron Children’s Hospital medical assistants and staff. Videos will be made available for families for practicing at home. • Personal health care and safety lessons will be modeled and practiced to support everyone’s safety.

  18. Commitment to Health and Safety • Health checklists and temperature assessments should take place at home by families before coming to school each day, whether arriving by bus, car, or walking. • Hand sanitizer will be located at entrances and in all classrooms. • Students and staff will practice regular hand washing routines. • Each classroom will be equipped with cleaning supplies to sanitize work areas throughout the day. • At the end of each day, the classrooms, restrooms, offices and all touch surfaces will be disinfected with an electrostatic sprayer.

  19. Commitment to Health and Safety • K-5 classrooms will be limited to 18 - 22 students per classroom. • K-12 will follow a 1:1 ratio for students-to-devices, eliminating the need for sharing devices. • K-12 classrooms will adhere to 3’ to 6’ social distancing. • Directional signs will be posted in hallways and on stairs so that students only travel in one direction with only one class at a time.

  20. Meals • K - 5 During Risk Levels 1 and 2, breakfast and lunches will be served while still remaining socially distant. Each building will create a procedure that is best fitting for students’ social and safety needs. • K - 5 During Risk Levels 3 and 4, the district is working on plans that will be communicated. • 6 - 12 Grab and Go Lunches will be available for students during Risk Levels 1, 2, and 3. The district is working on plans for breakfast, as well as plans for Risk Level 4.

  21. Grades, Credits, and Attendance (K-12) • All students will be held accountable for their learning. • All learning options for students will follow the same grading expectations on assignments, learning activities, and assessments. • Students will receive grades for each class and grades will be reflected in Progress Book and on student report cards. • Students who take high school-level courses will receive credit for those courses upon passing. • Students will be required to participate in both in-person and virtual work in order for attendance to count for those days.

  22. Option 1 for K-5 • At school all day Monday through Friday daily during Risk Levels 1 and 2. • At school all day on a rotating basis during Level 3 . • In general, A-K on Mondays/Tuesdays and L-Z on Wednesdays/Thursdays, with virtual learning on the other days and times. • Families will be scheduled to attend on the same days. • There will be a process to change the scheduled days due to childcare or similar issues. • All students will learn from home during Risk Level 4. • Your child’s same teachers will be providing daily online live instruction as well as assignments using the same resources used in the classroom. • Learning options are chosen for one semester. (August to December)

Option 1 for 6-12 • At school until 12:30 on a rotating basis during Levels 1,2, and 3 • In general, A-K on Mondays/Tuesdays and L-Z on Wednesdays/Thursdays, with online instruction or online live instruction on the other days and times. • Families will be scheduled to attend on the same days. • Students attend every class every day in some format. • There will be a process to change the scheduled days due to childcare or similar issues. • Online live instruction will take place every day for all students grades 6-12.

  24. Option 1 for 6-12 • All students will learn from home during Risk Level 4 with the same teachers and resources used during Blended Learning. • Learning options are chosen for one semester. (August to December)
