International Baccalaureate (IB) Students:

It is a 2- step process to assess your IB results: STEP 1 - We convert your IB score in the completed diploma to a 'combined rank’ according to the rules agreed Australia wide.

  • The process for calculating a tertiary entrance rank for IB students remains

unchanged.

  • This means IB students do not need to register for the ATAR Portal
slide-16
SLIDE 16

STEP 2 - We then convert your combined rank to a QTAC selection rank.

  • T
  • help IB students understand the rank that will

be used in the assessment of their QTAC application, they can refer to the IB Score to Combined Rank conversion table on the QTAC website. See https://www.qtac.edu.au/for- schools/international-baccalaureate-ib-studies.

NB: The conversion table will be updated and available on the QTAC Website by 4 August for students completing their IB in 2020.

QUT—Entry in 2021

  • Some certainty around entry for Year 12 students:

– students with an ATAR of 70.00 or above are likely to gain a place at QUT—maybe not in their preferred course but at least to get a start –

  • ffer guarantee expanded so that students with an ATAR of 87.00 or above

are guaranteed entry into a wide range of courses – pathways to QUT continue to be available including study after school such as uni, VET , TAFE/QUT dual awards – published 2020 selection ranks are a good indication of equivalent ATAR.

  • COVID-19 update: QUT has relaxed the requirement to have an ATAR or IBD if

using a VET school qualification (must have QCE) and have added additional selection ranks for financial hardship through EAS.

  • Ready to welcome current Year 12s, and have support in place to help students

transition and succeed at their university studies.

  • Online alternative to Open Day—details to come
