Producer Diversification Goal : Encourage agricultural producers to expand or improve their operations through the production of diversified agricultural products. • June 1 st -7 th 2014 • Horticulture • Agritourism • Organics • Fruits and Vegetables • Value-Added • Honey Bees
Cost Share for Enhancement • These funds are to help enhance existing agricultural operations – Eligible items that would improve the operation’s income long term • Projects are competitive within their sectors – Not all eligible and ineligible items are listed – Strong application is still needed
Questions to Ask Yourself… • Is your operation ready? – Entire project costs are paid up front by the applicant – How are you going to pay for this – How long will it take for this project to pay itself off? • Are you ready? • Is this a need or a want?
Are you Prepared? • Do you have a business plan? – A good proposal can easily be gathered from this – These both take time • Great Ideas? – Put them on paper – Does it work and make sense
