The participating schools are:
Three different types of schools will contribute a Swedish part of the ARISS contact.
- Räddningsgymnasiet, Sandö
(Senior Cycle)
- Minerva school, Ånge
(Junior Cucle)
- NTI Gymnasium, Sundsvall
- (Senior Cycle)
Together these three schools count 550 students ranging from ages 12 to 19.

Räddningsgymnasium Sandö
- Sandö Räddningsgymnasium - Sandö Rescue School, corresponding
irish “senior cycle” is close to nature and overlooks a beautiful fjord.
- Besides teaching science programs, the gymnasium offers courses
in civil crisis management, firefighting as well as search and rescue.
- Students are prepared for a career as teachers, nurses,
psychologist, firemen, fire engineers and policemen. Together with the Folke Bernadotte academy, FBA, (Swedish government agency for peace, security and development), as well as other governmental organisations, they create an understanding
- f and a preparedness for international assignments.
- Part of the education is that the students travel around the world to
learn from existing fire and rescue situations.
- Radio amateur is also included in the student’s graduate projects.
- Sandö Rescue School has about 100 students.

- Scholl is located in municipal of “the geographical middle point of Sweden”
- Minerva school Ånge teaches younger students from age 12 to 15 (Junior
cycle ) and has of about 200 students enrolled.

- The NTI Gymnasium Sundsvall or the Northern Technical institute,
established 1968 offers three programs: Technology Program with Information and Media Technology, Aesthetic Program with Aesthetics and Media, and IT Program (EE) with a focus on Computer and Communication Technology.
- The school has about 250 students.
