WHAT TO EXPECT IN A KPU CLASS
- Maximum 35 students

- Grades are typically based on papers, exams,
projects and in-class participation
- Entering grade 12 in September
- B or higher in English 11
- B or higher in Socials 11
- B or higher in Math or Science 11
- Reference from Teacher
- Permission from parent/guardian
- 1. See your high school counsellor to determine
if you’re eligible and pick up an application package
- 2. Complete application package
- 3. Return application package to your
counsellor by MAY 18th, 2017
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I APPLY?
- 1. Application is reviewed by school district and KPU
- 2. Receive acceptance letter from KPU in June
- 3. Attend mini-orientation at KPU with fellow dual-credit students
(July 10th)
- 4. Register for Fall classes (beginning of July)
- 5. Fall classes start September 5th
- 6. Register for Spring class in November (Semester 2 students)
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
- Students are responsible for textbook and course material fees (approx.
$100 per course)
- Classes are 3 hours/week, not including homework or study time
- Some courses are popular; list a second choice course
- Students are able to register for one course in Fall 2017, and another in
Spring 2018
- Students who want to study at KPU after graduating from high school will
need to apply to KPU as a new student and pay $40 application fee
- Commitment and responsibility is required!
