Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is a specialty field within Neurotechnology, which is devoted to training people to gain control over electro-physiological processes in the human brain. In neurofeedback training, self-regulation of specific aspects of electrical brain activity is acquired by means of immediate feedback and positive reinforcement

Underlying mechanism while listening

 Hair cells release neurochemicals

picked up by auditory nerve {8th cranial nerve)

 Auditory nerve transmit auditory

stimulation to a region on right left sides of brainstem called pons which in innervate areas of cochlear nucleus.

 Next , the signal goes to the olivary

region and lateral lemnicus and inferior colliculus

Case history

The study was carried out on girl aged 5 years old who weighs 11 kilograms and has a height of 115cm. According to medical records, the subjects have had hypertonic cerebral palsy and global developmental delay. Cerebral Palsy Hypertonic problems faced by spastic type which is subject to a delay in the development of motor system and speech delay.

Conclusion

Neurofeedback training using Al-Mulk verse on children with Cerebral Palsy can increase the Alpha waves, changing social behavior and speech. Alpha Protocol was applied to implicate on T3 and T4 area to activate the motor system of children with Cerebral

  • Palsy. More research need to be done to explore more protocol that

would be effective for cerebral palsy children. In addition, that training sessions should be more consistence to get more effective results especially in the treatment of severe cases involving motor system.
