  6. What is Total School Grouping? “Total School Grouping provides an organizational model that places students in classrooms on the basis of achievement, flexibly groups and regroups students as needed for instruction, and provides appropriately challenging learning experiences for all students. “ - Gentry 2008

  7. How were schools selected? Selection was based on the grant’s criteria which required a minimum of 40% F/R. The grant was offered to all elementary schools who qualified and did not have other major initiatives due to requirements of the grant.

  10. What are the benefits? ● Students of similar achievement levels challenge each other; high ability learners have the opportunity to compare themselves to their intellectual peers and form a more accurate perception of their abilities. ● Other achievers are able to emerge and gain recognition. Over time, more students are identified as high achievers and fewer as low achievers. ● Teachers have more time to work with individual students due to the reduced range of achievement levels in a class.
