Background

  • Portal launched in early 2017 by University of Utah Department of

Pediatrics (UUDP)

  • Portal provides information, resources, and local referrals to families,

service providers, and care coordinators serving Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN)

  • “One Stop Shop”
  • The Portal currently allows users to choose to see information about

local services in any of UUDP’s partner states – Nevada, Utah, Idaho, New Mexico, Montana, and Rhode Island

Portal Features

  • Over 1,800 local and national service providers for families with

CYSHCN in the Nevada directory

  • Suggest a provider
  • Suggest an edit to a provider
  • Sub-specialist categorization
  • State-specific content
  • And many others…

Work Flow

  • Nevada 2-1-1 serves as the source of referral information for

community and professional service providers serving the CYSHCN population

  • Data from Nevada 2-1-1 is exported to UUDP quarterly
  • UUDP makes data available to the CYSHCN Program Coordinator
  • Also improve Portal site (new features, reorganization, etc.)
  • Coordinator prepares data for presentation on Portal
  • Chooses what referral information to upload and how its categorized
  • Cleans the data, if necessary (duplication, incorrect listings, etc.)
