Regional Planning Worskhop, WASP 2013 Annual Work plan and budget reviewed and validated implementation Saly, Senegal, 25- 27th March, 2013 The Alliance was expanded and consolidated with new partnership (Syngenta Foundation, FAO, Iowa State University, AFSTAetc.) Three Networks established: (i) Network of scientists to deliver quality breeder, (ii) Network of quality control and certification personnel to deliver project results on policy and advocacy and (iii) network of seed agri-business in strengthening the National and Regional Seed Trade Association and in delivering quality foundation and breeder seeds. 2013 work plan for the WASP finalized; Partners identified areas for their respective programs alignment with the WASP .

Training of Seed Technologists and Agri- Business Personnel ISU to submit CN by 19th April. Concept not to be submitted by Iowa State University covering all the 15 WAAPP countries (13 + Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau); Mauritania to be added. WASP-WAAPP Joint Study Visit (Targeted at 22 individuals from seed industry stakeholders); CN developed. Information shared with AFSTA Head Office in Kenya Networking systems in seed agri-business established between stakeholders from West and Eastern Africa; The knowledge and appreciation of the private sector in the best practices of seed agri-business enhanced in West Africa; Capacities to manage seed businesses strengthened in West Africa.
