On January 11, 2016, the Vancouver Park Board passed a motion directing staff to implement 11 strategies which address the TRC’s Call to Action.

Reconciliation Strategies 5 of the strategies are underway:

  • adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
  • the planning work for Stanley Park
  • review of archeological protocols
  • acknowledgement of Aboriginal language rights
  • no charge for changes to reclaimed names for OneCard users

$15,000 for training on indigenous issues and reconciliation. Three models of customized actionable training will be developed and piloted for:

  • Youth workers
  • Community centre staff
  • Operations and gardening staff

$25,000 for a community- engaged reconciliation focused arts program:

Indigenous artists will be working together.

  • Providing fair remuneration

for the complex work of:
