Expo Station (EWL)

Contract 922 comprised Expo Station, Overrun Tunnels, underground Electrical Sub-Station and Rail Facility building. (Project Period: May 2011 ~ Apr. 2017, Opened to public on 21 Oct. 2017) Downtown Line Stage 3 Contract 922

Singapore Expo

  • EXPO Station is a Civil Defense Shelter station as well as an Interchange station

connected to EWL Expo Station. It also has underground connection to Changi City Point mall and UE Bizhub building.

  • Electrical Substation is an underground building to supply electricity to DTL3 line.
  • Rail Facility Building has Integrated Operational Control Centre rooms.

Downtown Line Stage 3 Contract 922

  • A transfer-beam with 7 barrette piles was constructed prior to

excavation to support the two footings.

  • 8 synchronised hydraulic jacks were installed on the transfer-

beam and provided preloading forces for compensation of the vertical displacement during excavation.

  • 6 RC piles supporting each footing were cut away during

excavation.

The station was constructed underneath two pier footings of operating MRT viaducts by an under-pinning method.
