  • Update and maintenance of existing addresses unclear, no clear

responsibilities between organizations

  • Central Register only keeps administrative record of address
  • No linkage with location of address
  • In new law, AREC responsible for graphical register of addresses
  • Currently, plan to conduct 4 pilots (urban, rural, mixed population, small

town)

  • Only 3 employees in AREC to work on addresses
  • Lot of interest in addresses by government and private sector
  • Census 2020 coming up....

SPATIAL Macedonia

Purpose: Strengthen Professional Access To Information About Land (SPATIAL) in Macedonia Consists of 3 activities, each with specific outcomes:

  • 1. National Spatial Data Infrastructure - 'Capacity building NSDI

Stakeholders'. Mobilise stakeholders by increasing of knowledge for the production and delivery of services and metadata for the Macedonian geoportal

  • 2. Address Register – Technical Assistance for establishment and

implementation of the Address Register for Macedonia

  • 3. Institutional Development - Strengthening institutional and organisational

capacity by exchanging experiences and to develop capacity (focus on

updating the production process of Topographic map, 1:25,000)
