Plan Development District Administration has been developing the plan since the release of the template by PDE (Pennsylvania Department of Education) Committee Members ● Parents from each building ● Business Representation ● School Board Members ● Local Epidemiologist/Infectious Disease ● Teachers ● Administration PA Dept of Health Order ● Masks required in public places where social distancing cannot be achieved

Plan Development Recommendation for school reopening ● Highlights of the plan ○ A/B Reopening ○ Masks or Face Shields - class, bus and hallways ○ Social Distancing/Bus ○ Cleaning (high touch areas and daily) ○ Ventilation - fresh air classrooms and buses ○ Lunches ○ Contact Tracing/closing areas ○ Recess ○ Gym ○ Music Class ○ Sharing classroom materials ○ Handwashing/Hand sanitizer ○ Changes to the plan ○ Outdoor classes as feasible ○ Visitors/Field trips ○ Staff Training

  7. K-12 A/B Schedule Overview

Students attending face to face on their scheduled day will : K-12 - Be taught new concepts/curriculum - Have a regular in-school schedule - Practice the use of Canvas (New learning management system) - Have follow-up on learning tasks and assignments completed on distance learning days. Students attending “distance learning” on their scheduled day will : - Utilize Canvas for learning activities - Practice skills previously taught during face to face instruction - Complete enrichment or extension assignments - Participate in live stream sessions when available

Students attending face to face on their scheduled day will : High - Be introduced to new topics/concepts - Review essential learning targets - Be assessed (formative and summative) School - Complete learning Activities (ex. Labs, Socratic seminars, debates, etc.) - Conference with teachers - Conduct presentations Students attending “distance learning” on their scheduled day will : - Complete readings, research, projects, writing, and other assignments - Preview material - Review material - Assessments (formative) - Utilize digital resources such as IXL, NewsELA, Khan Academy, NearPod, FlipGrid, etc... - Make-up missing assignments

  10. Students attending face to face on their scheduled day will : Middle - Receive instruction on new concepts. Gradual Release Model (I do, We do, You do). - Participate in exploratory classes (Art, Tech Ed, School Music, FCS, PE/Health). - Have Performing Arts opportunities - Utilize digital resources such as enVision Mathematics, NewsELA, Study Island, and National Geographic Learning/Cengage. Students attending “distance learning” on their scheduled day will : - Utilize Canvas for learning tasks and application of skills. - Complete independent activities (i.e reading, writing, research tasks) and online formative assessments. - Have traditional homework, enrichment and extension activities.

Elementary Students attending face to face on their scheduled day will : - Receive instruction on new skills/concepts - Have time to practice the new skill/concept - Participate in Art, Music, Phsy. Ed, and Library Students attending “distance learning” on their scheduled day will - Use Canvas (same starting platform K-12) - Access to Programs - i-Ready Math/Reading - Work on independent practice/review assignments
