This alignment starts 500m east of the exit ramp of the future interchange on Hwy 400, follows existing 5th Line turns north on 10 Sideroad to meet 6th Line at a

  • roundabout. Centre left turn lanes are provided where there are cluster of houses.

S ideroad 10 Residents Concerns

  • 1. The Residents along 10 Sideroad between 6th Line and 5th Line

were concerned with the preferred alignment.

  • 2. A meeting was called on December 02, 2009
  • 3. LEA explained Municipal Class EA process and evaluation of the

alternative alignments with recommendation of the suggested preferred alignments.

  • 4. The Residents concerns:
  • Check sightlines as the hill is steep.
  • There are wells in front of the properties.

Response:

  • Driveways grades to meet the Town standards and sight

lines checked for stopping sight distance.

  • Action will be taken to ensure water supply continuity.

The Residents were provided with the plans, profile and cross sections at the driveway locations. Another meeting with Residents will be called after the PIC # 3.

Cost E stimate & Next S teps

Cost Estimate:

  • The preliminary capital cost estimate, including land cost, construction cost and

design cost for the SEAR is $7.1 million and the SWAR including Sideroad 10 Realignment and Widening to County Road 88 is $15.6 M Next Steps

  • Refine and finalise the Preliminary Design of the preferred alternative taking into

consideration the input/comments received from the public and relevant agencies.

  • Finalise Environmental Study Reports by end of April, 2010 and place ESR on

the Public Record for a 30 day public review period

  • Address any comment that may arise from the public review process.
  • Project implementation.
