Smart Sport is supporting the implementation of the EU Guidelines on Dual Careers of Athletes by setting up a transnational network of stakeholders that will elaborate, implement and test an Innovative Dual Career Program (DCP) for athletes and coaches.

Project General Objective

Smart Sport Innovative DCP 3 educational e-modules;

1 online e-platform for best EU practices; 1 e-platform connecting business with athletes; 5 multiplier sport events including in each PPC; 1 Olympic TEDx event;

3/ To pilot an innovative DCP for athletes and coaches; 4/ To increase the capacity of athletes and coaches by developing their technological skills; 5/ To connect business, sport professionals and organisations supporting athletes for growing together by using smart technology;

SLIDE 15 The EU guidelines in DCA are underestimated and not well implemented in most of the EU Member States despite of the EU actions towards their wide dissemination and promotion. Smart Sport DCP will be a new sound theoretical and practical tool validated among the project participants’ countries main stakeholders in sport and education that will bring positive effects on the target group after the project end. To create comparable skills in the EU student- athletes and coaches thus providing a comparable DC environment for them and helping their following - up education during mobility, despite of the differences between the EU member states’ economic and scientific level of development; To develop new technological skills in EU athletes thus answering the EU labour market requirements;

Smart Sport Project Needs

To raise awareness of elite student athletes ( about 120,000 in EU) and coaches for the EU existing DCP , counselling and initiatives; such as IOC Athletes Career Program and KADA , Stadium Listing Sport Program; To create new training flexible

To reduce the unemployment among the retired athletes and young people thus supporting the economic development of the EU;
