Cannulated Pulsed Flush Pump Similar Applications

Turbulent/pulsatile flush. This method is used to clear the catheter of blood or drugs that may adhere to the internal surface of the catheter. This technique utilizes a rapid stop-start or push-pause method when injecting the flush solution into the catheter. (Hadaway 2006; Dougherty 2006; Dougherty and Lister 2008)

Published Paper: Pulsative flushing as a strategy to prevent bacterial colonization of vascular access devices

  • The aim of this study was to prove the efficacy of pulsatile flushing to

prevent the bacterial colonization of vascular access devices.

  • “Pulsative flushing was at least twice as effective as continuous flushing

in reducing the S. aureus count. Pulsative flushing is more effective than continuous flushing in reducing the endoluminal contamination. Pulsative flushing is a simple, effective, and inexpensive technique to reduce catheter bacterial colonization.”

Creates a turbulent, scrubbing-like action which improves cleaning in similar applications

Erosion (removal of material) from repetitive waves (pulses) of water

Filling Integrated mixing valve, mixes hot and cold water

  • Improved water temperature accuracy
  • Set water temperature from display

Reliable electronic water level sensors

NEW Features / Benefits

New Feature Benefit

Glass lid, flush with front of the unit Visually ensure water is covering the instruments and allows user to open lid if elevator fails Accurate, repeatable flow meter dosing of detergent Consistent cleaning and passing of cleaning tests Detergent filter before flowmeter Reduces potential of flowmeter issues Visual detergent level gauge on display, with reset Quick and easy indication of detergent level. No need to open door and check often

  • r wait for unit to error due to no detergent

Three password access levels – User, Manager, Service Minimizes unauthorized changes to unit settings, such as program parameters Pulsed CI pump This approach has been shown to provide better internal cleaning in similar applications Improved cannulated flushing algorithm Tells unit which of the two flush ports is connected to eliminate false flushing error messages Integrated water mixing valve Improves water temperature accuracy to match optimal detergent setpoint Temperature set and displayed on the screen Improves User Experience, easier and more convenient to use Non mechanical water level sensors Improves reliability
