Nov 1 UC Applications Open for Submission (CSU, Private School College Apps & FAFSA opened 10/1) Nov 2 Marking period 2 ended. Report cards were delivered in your students’ 7th or 3rd periods. Nov 30 UC and CSU applications are Due! Dec 21 Semester 1 ends. Report cards will be mailed home. Be sure your address is up to date. These are the grades that hit transcripts, are included in determining graduation and that colleges see. Jan FAFSA season is in full swing Feb 22 Marking period 5 ends. What is Financial Aid: Money to pay for college that comes in various forms: grants, scholarships, work study & loans. Can financial aid be used at community colleges? Yes! Use it at 4 & 2-year colleges and trade schools. What does my student have to do to receive it? Just apply to the FAFSA or CA Dream App to find out what s/he is eligible for. What is the FAFSA? Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the application for federal student aid. Graduation Requirements
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of a 2.0
- Completion of a total of 230 credits with at least a grade of “D” in the
following: ○ 4 years of English ○ 3 years of Math ○ 3 years of Science ○ 3 years of Social Studies ○ 2 years (or equivalent) of World Language ○ 2 years (or equivalent) of PE ○ 1 year of Visual or Performing Art ○ 1 year of a College Prep Elective (a total of 50 elective credits needed)
- Completion of Senior Capstone Project (Done within the pathways in
your CTE Elective + pathway pure content courses.)

Please talk to your students’ academic counselor if they do not. ○ Close monitoring is required if they are below that GPA.
- Q: Are D’s on the transcript ok?
○ If your student is applying directly to a four-year college after high school, they may not have any D’s in a core class on their transcript or at semester 1 & 2 this year. GPA used to determine grad status
