Fodder production issues at farm level:

  • Poor quality of silage/hay for winter feeding due to lack
  • f specialized equipment for planting and harvesting

maize and other fodder crops.

  • The stock of silage harvesters, rakes, mowers and

presses is officially only 10-12% of FSU levels

  • Fodder management from the field to the store is poor

due low mechanization of the processing of the silage.

  • Few fodder crops – introduce: maize, triticale, fodder

pea, fodder sugarbeets, rapeseeds for oil, soybeans.

  • Inputs (new seeds) to be avaialable

There are totally 26,029 tractors in all farms

  • f Tajikistan, from them 19,159 (73%) are able

to work in the fields. Totally 76 Machinery Service Stations, including 35 in Khatlon region, 22 in Sugd region, 8 in Badakhshan region and 11 in RRP.

Facilitated development of innovations and technologies in the sector

  • In line with the Resolution of the GoT as of 2 March 2013, which was later

amended and expanded on 28 of July 2017 there are certain types of machinery and inputs that are VAT and custom fee exempt at import point

  • There are plenty of new technologies and approaches that are being practiced all

around the world, part of it is presented in the Forum

  • There is a need to facilitate access of Tajik private sector to those technologies

and know-how aimed at boosting the productivity and minimizing the risks

  • It is suggested to review the list and include additional items in the list under the

specific criteria of increased productivity

  • It is recommended that the expanded list shall specifically include genetic

material and technology for milking, processing and packing of meat and dairy products
