Beyond 2020

The current Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) ends in 2020. The Ministry of Education is leading the co-construction of a new plan. This is our opportunity, as locally elected boards, to represent local perspectives and community voice as we work towards a new vision for education that will form the basis for a Provincial Education Plan and set a course for the sector from 2020 to 2030.

SSBA and Board Engagements

  • The SSBA formed an Education Visioning Working

Advisory Group (WAG) to lead and support boards.

  • A package to support engagements has been

distributed to all boards.

  • School board led engagements have already begun

at the local level and are expected to conclude by May 31, 2019.

  • We encourage all trustees to leverage existing
  • pportunities, to engage and have conversations

about the future of education in your communities and with your staff.
