How it works:

1 . Level sensors and telemetry unit are installed at the petrol station. 2 . Diesel/ Petrol/ LPG levels are sent via Web or SMS to a central database which process automatically the data from each tank. 3 . Users can any time request an update of the tank level and access the data via the internet. 1 .Level sensors are installed in tanks and wall mounted telemetry units are also mounted in a secured place near the tanks at the fuel dump site or filling station. 2 .Diesel/ Petrol levels are sent via Web or SMS to a central database which process automatically the data from each tank. 3 .Users can any time request an update of the tank level and access the data via the internet.

HYPERCOM SENTS™ 30

Explantations about the measurement system of volume of liquid in tanks using absolute pressure sensor

slide-31
SLIDE 31

HYPERCOM SENTS™ 31

An absolute pressure sensor SH110 measures P1= Pressure at the bottom of tank [mbar] P2= Atmospheric pressure received from weather stations [mbar], or from a 2nd sensor placed outside the tank

P1-P2=ρ*h*g

ρ = liquid density h= height of liquid g= gravity

h= (P1-P2)/ρ*g

Pressure measurement

slide-32
SLIDE 32

2 possibilities to get the volume [L] from the height of liquid h [m]. A: Tank type and dimensions are known B: Interpolation curve is known

Relation between height and volume

  • The SENTS™ absolute pressure sensor (SH110) is based on the

thick film technology

  • Measuring range: 800 – 1400 mbar (600 mbar Full Scale)
  • This technology and special layout design provides self-compensation
  • f temperature:
  • Temp. coeff. of offset (TCO): ± 0.10 % FS / C (typ. ± 0.05 %)
  • Temp. coeff. of sensitivity (TCS): ± 0.05 % FS / C

Offset displacement for 10 C variation:

  • ± 3 mbar = ± 3.6 cm diesel

Total system accurracy (≤ 3 mbar = 3.6 cm of diesel)
