  15. Grading vs. Pass / Fail Presently our SAT course is graded as a pass / fail. The team is proposing that the SAT course be grade ded, d, consistent with other courses. Growth based grading will be used to measure student performance and application of learned strategies vs. SAT score performance. Growth will be measured using a portfolio based grading rubric: Student Portfolio: 1. Identify areas of strengths and areas in need of improvement 2. Develop goals with instructor 3. Identify and apply strategies 4. Evidence of practice and growth 5. Student Reflection 6. Collaborative Evaluation via Rubric

  16. Proposed Course Waiver Students can be waived from taking the course if they received a score of 550 on the PSAT in each subject area of the Reading/Writing and Math sections. 550 is a number whereby ⅔ of the questions are answered correctly. 21. Freshman Seminar Infusion The current Freshman Seminar Curriculum has learning goals and lesson objectives that can be integrated across different academic areas including but not limited to The College Institute/AFJ ROTC, Freshman Summer Orientation (adding an additional day), subject area courses in middle school and high school, and middle school advisories (in consultation with middle school principals). This will ensure that most of the the learning goals can still be met within the appropriate programs or subjects. Suggested Integration Plan

  22. Professional Development ● ELA and Math Supervisors will identify teachers to instruct SAT Prep for the 2018-2019 school year ● Provide professional development for teachers between J anuary and J une 2018 ● Focus on development of specific scope and sequence using K han and text and growth rubric ● Three full day sessions to include PD for both ELA/Math teachers ○ Review of the SAT test format, content, test taking skills and strategies as well development of growth rubric will be incorporated within the PD. ● Encourage all ELA & Math teachers to sit for a full SAT administration as a form of professional development
