Vision Saath envisions inclusive and empowered communities and individuals Mission To make human settlements equitable living environments where all residents and vulnerable people have access to health, education, essential infrastructure services and livelihood options, irrespective of their economic and social status.

  4. Women Development Centre Falah-E-Niswa (2012) • Centre for women of all ages • Aim to empower marginalized women from community • Impart them training, placement and counseling • Currently in the Juhapura area of Ahmedabad

  6. Youth Employability Programme (YEP) (1995) • UMEED and UDAAN: Youth employability program providing job trainings and placements. Based on the needs of market. • YUVA MAST: Also caters youth employment. program aims to reduce dependency on external funding sources. A total of 13 Centers in Gujarat and 9 Centers in Rajasthan

R - Weaves (2010) • R weaves program supports the artisans of Surendranagar district, helping them in saving the dying art forms of Tangaliya and Patola. • Rweaves provides small loans, develop new designs and products and organizes weaving workshops for the artisans • It also do marketing and Branding of the products develop by the local artisans

Child Friendly Spaces • Child friendly spaces centers focus on child labourers and provide four hours of informal education and nutrition to them. • Main aim behind it is to introduce the children to a formal schooling environment as well as pull them out of child labour • Currently 7 CFS centers are operating on construction sites and in slums of Ahmedabad

Child Rights for Change (2009) • Child rights for change programme was started with an aim to eradicate child labour in Dholka and Viramgam blocks of Ahmedabad district of Gujarat • Programme has a network of 120 villages. • Major focus of programme is to sensitize communities in recognizing issues of child rights violation and child labour

Microfinance (2002) Saath Savings & Credit Cooperative Society LTD • Focus on savings and financial literacy. • Trying to instill a habit of savings in slum dwellers. • In the coming years the Cooperative will focus on reaching out more clients and build capacity in imparting entrepreneurial and business development skills in their members • The Cooperative will be introducing training sessions to strengthen and increase business skills of their members.

  18. Affordable Housing ‘ griha pravesh ’ • Collaboration with DBS Affordable Home Strategy Ltd. • Empower potential buyers from urban lower income areas. • Tied up with microfinance to provide slum dwellers with affordable loan solutions. • Operating in 2 cities of Gujarat, Ahmedabad and Surat

EWS Housing Sites • Helping in formation of residents association. • Working in livelihood, education, housing, shelter, sanitation and health. • Has a participatory approach towards the beneficiaries • Currently there are 9 sites in the areas of Odhav, Vatva, Isanpur, Ganeshnagar, Dudeshwar and Behrampura

  21. EWS Housing Sites  “Through saath’s awareness campaign people are now more aware of their health and cleanliness”— Ibrahimbhai Ganchi, Vasant Gajendra gadkarnagar, Vatva

Nirman • This programme works with people who are unskilled, semi skilled labourers in any construction based work in the informal sector • The program aims at improving their skills, improving their working efficiency and proficiency • Trained participants are linked with placements so as to get better opportunities and better wages A total of 4 centers in Vasna, Behrampura, Meghaninagar and Usmanpura of Ahmedabad

  23. Nirman  “I was illiterate but it didn’t act as a barrier in my training, I am more confident of my work now”— Gitaben, Masonry Course, Behrampura Area

Urban Resource Center • One stop solution for the urban poor. • Making people inhabiting slums aware of various beneficiary services available to them by government. • Provide knowledge and resources to them to deal with important documents and processes. • Monitor and evaluate development in the community, advocate and run campaigns related to various issues of slum dwellers. • Currently 4 Centers, 3 in Wards of Ahmedabad – Juhapura, Vasna and Behrampura and 1 in Rajkot

  25. Urban Resource Centre  “Earlier I used to drive a rented auto but with Saath’s help in providing me auto rickshaw loan, now I own an auto rickshaw of my own ” Prakashbhai Bhavarlal Khatik, Auto rickshaw Driver

  26. Research Documentation and Communication Cell • Introduction point for any visitor or intern who approaches SAATH • Facilitate interns, volunteers, visitors and funders • Documentation, Reporting, Designing • Coordinating with Media and Social Networking

  28. Youth force • Aim to build a platform for youth from urban slums of Gujarat • In the next years aim is to facilitate over 25,000 youth in training and placement for livelihood options • Currently working in 4 cities of Gujarat: Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot

  30. Balghars • To provide basic education, health and nutrition support to underprivileged children. • Target age group of 3-6 yrs. • Education program syllabus set up by a child psychologist. • Aim to improve/strengthen the quality of preschool education components. • 7 Balghars operating in Juhapura area of Ahmedabad
