  • What assumptions/generalisations are

being made?

A large number of Rugby fans in countries other than NZ will not be able to go to any games due to the cost involved.

3 2 11 7 30% 48% 13% 9% Yes, i really want to Yes, i might consider it to much of a cost involved no i dont want to no i cant

This assumption is true by going of the survey results. Out of the 11 that said there is to much cost involved, 3 play rugby and 7 said they would have liked to go. And out of the 23 surveyed only 1 person said that any of their family was going.

  • What assumptions/

generalisations are being made?

A majority of New Zealand society will be positively impacted my the RWC 2015

  • How does this link to my
  • ther sociological factor.

This is not completely true because as NZ has rugby as its main sport there are many rugby fans in the society who will not be able to go because of the pricing. However there are also lots of other individuals and businesses who will be impacted positively by the 2015 RWC.

economic cost for NZ to travel to England to watch games is too high for many. New Zealanders will rely on the medias coverage of the sport to keep up to date.

  • free view does not show all

games lives so there fore you have to spend money to get sky.

  • New Zealanders have not seen much

advertising in NZ because the games are held overseas. I assume that the advertising of the 2015 RWC will be much greater in England than in New Zealand.

  • I cant watch normal

shows if the games are being televised as replacement

  • people going to pubs to

watch games and drinking, adding danger to the roads

  • How and why does this

Factor impact others?

OTHERS

  • Impacts others in some of the same

ways it impacts me. Effects my family because in order to watch a rugby game we rely on the media as we are not going to the games.

  • Most of my friends aren't rugby fans so

it impacts them by taking up time on TV instead of there other usual shows.

  • Explain how and why this

sociological factor advantages others? (positives)

  • “For someone who is really interested

in rugby the media is constantly informing us on the scores etc and its good to get updates on the sport” - friend

  • Explain how and why this

sociological factor disadvantages others? (negatives)

  • “If i had a show that I would usually

watch on that channel and the games would be interrupting the show that would be annoying” “Its frustrating for people that don't actually have an interest in the RWC to be constantly bombarded with the medias coverage on the sport” - friend
