 Proven link between forest cover and water

quantity and quality.

 Long history of tree planting in our watershed

going back to the 1920’s.

 At the peak (early 80’s) MNRF, NVCA, and

landowners planted nearly a million trees each year.

We are now the only agency left in the watershed that provide this service. We have been planting trees each year since 1964.

Was 2nd biggest ever, with 217,260 trees planted on 32 properties in 9 municipalities.

Planting began on April 19, completed on May 29. Some backpack spraying was completed by early June.

 Levy = $73,654.14  Partners = $409,081.14  Forests Ontario, Simcoe

County, Environment Canada, Town of New Tecumseth, and the landowners. Many of these are confirmed for 2018.

 Biggest contributor by far is

Forests Ontario. In the past 5 years they have contributed $1.18 million.
