The Office of Research, the Center for Faculty Development, the SJSU Research Foundation, and the SJSU Tower Foundation collaborate to offer a variety of programs, support and resources designed to assist students and faculty in honing their research, scholarship and creative activity interests and initiatives.

Faculty Funding Opportunities

Program Eligibility Max Award Amount Applications Due Spending Period Central Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity (RSCA) Program Unit 3 faculty $5,000 or 0.2 RT, or one‐ month summer salary (capped at $5,000) March July 1– June 30 Emeritus and Retired Faculty Association RSCA Award (ERFA) Lecturers with more than 6 years of continuous service to SJSU, tenure‐track faculty and tenured faculty Two awards up to $2,500 December July 1 – June 30 Faculty Diversity Development Research, Curricular and Creative Activities Lecturers, tenure‐track and tenured faculty 0.2 RT, or $5,000 salary awards, or $5,000 research funds Typically late Fall semester
