  3. Reopening Task Force Work Groups BUILDING PRACTICES EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FACILITIES HEALTH AND SAFETY INSTRUCTION TRANSPORTATION A group of 40+ individuals representing constituencies from all across our school community.

  4. THE WORK OF THE TASK FORCE PREPARED US TO RESPOND TO THE NYSED GUIDANCE The 145-page document required responses to 14 separate sections.

BUILDING PRACTICES • School supplies (posted on WMS website) • Arrival ( 3 points of entrance, large gathering areas) • Scheduling ( “Cohort” Model/ A -K, L-Z) • Change of Classes ( No Bells, Increase Passing Time/stagger, No lockers) • Lunch ( use of cafeteria, cohorts/strands, alternate areas if needed) • Recess (outside if weather permitting, alternate areas) • Dismissal (staggered dismissal) • Bathroom Use ( One at a time)

THREE MODES OF INSTRUCTION Full In-Person (tentatively begins October 5, 2020) Full Online Hybrid Students may only switch to in-person modes of instruction during the quarterly re-registration periods. You may change your child’s full in -person instruction or hybrid instruction mode to full online instruction mode at any time by contacting your principal. 11

  16. ATTENDANCE AND CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM Attendance will be monitored and recorded in ALL modes of instruction per the District attendance policy. Chronic absenteeism will be reported to administration and/or PPS staff. 16

  17. TECHNOLOGY AND CONNECTIVITY ▪ Access to Internet and devices will be provided based on responses to the enrollment survey. ▪ Expanded 1:1 device program for all students in grades 5-12. Additional devices will be available for those who need in grades P-4. ▪ Instructional and outdoor areas outfitted with technology. ▪ Students who are learning remotely will be able to access a live stream of the classroom. 17

  18. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND ATHLETICS At this time, all extracurricular and athletic activities are on hold until September 21, 2020 at which time we will follow the updated guidance provided by NYSED and the DOH. 18
