ISG – Initiatives

  • Continuing to increase IF accreditations
  • Establishing an environment of flexible deployment and cross

skill sets (Work Locations / FWAs)

  • Establishing collaborative processes internally and externally

to improve outcomes for clients (i.e. inspection allocation times / increased inspection capacity)

  • Management of biosecurity risk through more effective

targeting and intervention

  • Implementation of resource strategies to meet demand

(casuals, overtime, interstate resourcing & routine rescheduling)

slide-8
SLIDE 8
  • Investigate options to conduct inspections between 6.30am – 6.30pm
  • Where advantageous, request dual accredited inspectors (e.g. cooked

prawns, perishable inspections)

  • Acknowledgement of demand drivers & enhance communication and

accountability in booking protocols (i.e. requests for am/pm, to meet & assurance on consignment arrival for inspection)

  • Large numbers of IF cancellations lead to inefficiencies and costs to all

parties (documentation required in the IFCC, identification of lines, seals intact / IF inspections, Provision of documentation, etc.)

  • Assistance to draw samples from oversized / frozen food (large wheels
  • f cheese, frozen whole tuna and meat product)
