Design Direction/Inspiration
Collection Description
The Real Women Project aims to acknowledge, celebrate, and memorialize the experiences of transgender women who were the victims of hate crimes by creating fabric portraits of them. The portraits, which will be sewn together from pieces of recycled women’s clothing, will use bright colors, bold lines, and unique fabrics to reflect the bravery, beauty, and individuality of each woman.
