  3. BRIEF HISTORY • While recovering from an operation, I decided to see what Montagu had to offer. • I came across a garden project where they were selling a carrot or two. • I then discovered they were supplying Rural Folk with plants for home gardening. • Excess veggies were bought back from Rural Folk, which then became their meat money. The buy back became cut up vegetables for the local restaurants. • Startup funding came from the Rotary Club. • What we saw :: …………….. The garden and harvest crews and the prepping folk were in need of clothing.

  6. WHAT DIFFERENCES WE CAN MAKE THESE ARE BUT A FEW …. • Caravan Park, Vredenburg - Due to an elderly couple living in a small cement storage with no more than a single bed, we bought them a Wendy House , supplied a double bed, fridge, etc so that they were more comfortable, given the old lady is wheelchair bound. • Talana Farm School, Montagu - We supplied a Double Door Display Fridge • Busses sent to Montagu to bring this school to Cape Town and they returned home each with a pair of school shoes. • Ashbury Primary, Montagu – Over 1000 children with no library. We managed to set up a library for them. • Entrepreneurial classes for mentally challenged children. Children too old for school we set up a sewing machine for the girls and electrical woodwork equipment for the boys. • Mentally challenged younger children got a TV and DVD • Lingelihle Old Age Home, Zolani, Ashton – They became non-compliant due to rule changes over a period of time. • We supplied 27 hospital curtain tracks plus curtains for partitioning plus relocated their sluice system. • Due to electrical cable thefts, we supplied an industrial gas cooker. • Vredenburg - We set up a Matric Farewell Clothing Bank for underprivileged children • Bram Care Centre , Ashton - We bought them a Fridge / Freezer as well as medical equipment. An Urn and Outside Security Lights.

  7. OTHER STUFF • May years ago we had a year end function for 1000 people. Our main target being people with substance addictions and poverty. • A year later we had a Christmas function bringing three Old Age Homes from Montagu and Ashton, with different cultures together. • A year later was a Shoebox Christmas function for Talana School & now every year with the school adopted by a company.
