Purpose of Public Meeting #2
- To share the work of the ARC with the community
- To invite parents and residents in the
Clarkson/Erindale communities to provide feedback
- n community-developed scenarios
Mandate of the ARC
- The Accommodation Review Committee will lead a review
- f the school accommodation needs within a review area.
- Through consensus-building, decision making and
community consultation, the committee will review available options and develop creative, community-driven solutions.
- The ARC will make a recommendation for student
accommodation in the review area to maximize student learning, within the resources available to the PDSB.
- 2. Does the option enhance the
teaching and learning experiences for students and staff?
- 4. Does the option create a greater
number of diverse social grouping of students?
- 3. Does the option provide a staffing
base to enrich a range of co-curricular programs?
- 5. Does the option provide for

- Assumed a consolidation would result in more children
attending and would require an addition to the school
- A high level review was undertaken to identify:
–potential site constraints, –potential impact to the surrounding community – potential safety issues
- Preliminary in nature
- Observation information is posted in the hallway

Next Steps
- Using the feedback from tonight’s meeting the ARC will
meet to revise and narrow options further
- June 7th - third public meeting. The ARC’s revised
- ptions will be presented and feedback gathered from
community
- The ARC's proposed recommendations will be presented
at the fourth public meeting on October 4th.
- October 14th – ARC report submitted to Director of
Education
- ARC Report and Staff Report are presented to Physical
Planning and Building Committee in January 2012
